Capucin

The Capucin is a very old folding knife whose name refers to the habit worn by monks. The tip of the knife’s handle recalls the silhouette of a monk’s face wearing this large hood. The Capucin revisited by Laguiole en Aubrac is a slender knife, small in size with soft lines.

Coupe-Coupe

Through this knife, we wish to pay tribute to the men deported to the penal colony of Cayenne in Guyana under Napoleon Bonaparte III and until 1938. Every day, an exorbitant amount of wood was needed to run the prison administration. The convicts were therefore in charge of “making the stere”: cutting down trees.
Almost 100 years later, we have recovered the few remaining stere of local wood from that era and turned them into knives with an aesthetic similar to the local ‘coupe-coupe’: a fairly short saber with a wide blade, used to cut a path through the bush or rainforest of tropical countries.

"LE COUTEAU D’ICI"

‘Le Couteau d’Ici’ was created in partnership with the french designer Benjamin AUZIER. It belongs to the category of Piemontese folding knives which feature a very ancient friction mechanism. The knife blade has a protrusion called a “lens” that rests against the handle during blade rotation. By holding the “lens” with the thumb or hand, the knife remains open.

Lo Fau

The Aubrac plateau was the inspiration for this knife: a raw, authentic design that reflects the wilderness and rigorous environment of the massif. The knife’s aesthetic reminds us of the beautiful curves of the plateau, shaped by lava flows millions of years ago. It features a ‘sage leaf’-style blade and a handle in Aubrac beech wood, from which it takes its name. ‘Lo Fau’ is the patois translation of Beech, a native wood species that dominates the Aubrac plateau.

Three bishops knife

This knife was created in reference to the Cross of the Three Bishops, a true symbol of the Aubrac plateau. It represents the junction of three departments: Aveyron, Cantal and Lozère. The cross was erected in 1238 in memory of a council held in 590 between the bishops of the three departments. Today, it is the symbol of the common belonging of the inhabitants of Aveyron, Cantal and Lozère to the Aubrac plateau.
The Three Bishops knife was designed for outdoor activities. It is a large folding knife inspired by the design of the Capucin; The end of the knife handle recalls the silhouette of a monk’s face hidden by the imposing hood of his religious garment.
