Laguiole en Aubrac double plated knives are iconic pieces of craftsmanship, renowned for their elegance and quality of construction. These knives are often recognizable by their refined details.
The name of the knife refers to its structure : two metal plates frame the spring, thereby reinforcing its strength and giving it a distinctive appearance.
For each Laguiole knife, the plates are finely handcarved by our cutlers offering a fine and elegant pattern. They are often considered collector’s items and prestigious objects because of their meticulous craftsmanship, aesthetic beauty and traditional heritage. They represent a remarkable blend of functionality and art, appealing to both cutlery enthusiasts and lovers of fine objects.
A beautiful variation of the double-plated Laguiole is the knife with handcarved plates. Here, the knife features a single pair of finely hand-decorated plates for a sophisticated result and an artistic touch.
